Our Company is seeking: An experienced and highly motivated Apartment Resident Service Coordinator for our Affordable Community ThinkEast Apartments of 181 units in Austin TX.

Job Type-Full-Time

Job Description Summary

The Resident Services Coordinator (RSC) will focus on assisting within the leasing department while leasing available units and current residents to be successful in REACH housing and in improving their economic stability. The RSC will provide Information and Referral that focuses on housing success crisis intervention employment education and health and safety. All residents live in a subsidized HUD/202 property and are elderly and/or disabled. The RSC will followup on notices given to residents and work proactively to decrease the number of notices that result in evictions. The position will work with other staff to assist with program outreach and marketing materials contribute to the Bimonthly newsletter and coordinate other special yearly events. The position will work closely with Property Management Resident Services Coordinators and our data base system. Employ proper Landlord/Tenant and Fair Housing Law Practices and Policies.

Responsibilities

  • Assists residents with accessing rent/utility assistance Case Management services housekeeping services and other connections to resources needed to prevent notices and evictions when possible.
  • Leasing available units.
  • Assists residents in understanding requirements for tenancy made by Community Managers assist in filling out the required paperwork and facilitate discussions between residents and Property Management as needed. Mediate when necessary.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with agencies working with low-income elderly and/or disabled individuals.
  • Works closely with Aging and Disability and other local support service providers in assisting residents in obtaining income through employment SSI or SSD.
  • Maintains information on relevant referral resources. Produces community resource documents to promote community access.
  • Works closely with Property Manager to co-facilitate leadership and goal-setting workshops.
  • Organizes and facilitates resident meetings.
  • Problem-solve with residents when appropriate.
  • Provides professional communication and leadership in a variety of meeting/presentation settings that support open honest communication and inclusion of diversity.
  • Plans organizes and conducts social educational artistic and other community-based activities for residents.
  • Works with REACH volunteer coordinator to recruit and supervise volunteers and interns to assist tenants as needed.
  • Manages on-site computer labs and assists residents with basic computer skills.
  • Assists Resident Services staff with bi-monthly resident newsletter.
  • Creates and edit building-specific newsletter.
  • Assists with Holiday parties and other events for all residents.
  • Assists with the newsletter as needed.
  • Assists with planning and delivering classes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one(1) year of related experience.
  • Knowledge of Tax Credit (LIHTC) strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional focus on detail
  • Proficient in computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Excel Word and Outlook)
  • Experience with Onesite Ops and/or Yieldstar
  • Proactive individual who works independently
