What You Will Do:
The Quantum Computing Consultant will support a team of skilled researchers to help drive advancements in quantum computing research for the Department of Defense.
As part of our team youll serve as a strategic technical advisor to program managers at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) advising on advanced government-funded research and development programs. Youll work with world-class scientists and engineers to provide strategic assessments of emerging technologies. You will maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs assisting with the management of current programs and facilitating the transition of program deliverables to DoD stakeholders.
What You Will Need:
Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD SECRET security clearance; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of clearance prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE SECRET or higher-level clearance are preferred.
Bachelors degree
FIVE (5) or more years experience in quantum quantum mechanics quantum optics and/or quantum information theory; including but not limited to:
Experience developing and characterizing experimental quantum devices in an R&D environment
Experience with photonic superconducting color center and/or AMO (atomic molecular optical) quantum systems
Experience authoring editing and proof-reading technical papers presentations reports and/or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences
Experience meeting target milestones timelines and budgets for projects/programs
What Would Be Nice To Have:
An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED TOP SECRET/SCI (TS/SCI) Federal or DoD security clearance
Masters degree with THREE (3) or more years of professional experience
Ph.D. degree in a STEM field with zero years of professional experience
Experience performing or supporting government-sponsored research activities
Experience developing or managing programs/projects related to quantum information and/or quantum computing technologies
Experience leading and coordinating teams of different experience and technical backgrounds
Prior experience working with DARPA
Knowledge of standard nanofabrication techniques such as lithography etching or deposition
Knowledge of the DoD program/project development process
Ability to work on tasks quickly independently and collaboratively in a teamatmosphere
Possession of outstanding attention to detail
Possession of clear and succinct oral visual and written communication skills
