Job Summary
The Xtreme Group is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to support and oversee the daily operations of our accounts payable function. This role is critical to ensuring accurate timely and compliant processing of vendor payments while maintaining strong internal controls.
The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for supervising AP workflows reviewing invoices and payment batches reconciling accounts and supporting the Staff Accountant with reporting and month-end close activities. This position plays a key role in maintaining financial accuracy strengthening vendor relationships and improving operational efficiency within the finance department.
This is a fully onsite position requiring in-house collaboration with the accounting team and other departments.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily accounts payable operations and workflow
Review approve and process invoices expense reports and payment batches
Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments
Maintain and update vendor records and resolve discrepancies
Reconcile accounts payable transactions and assist with month-end and year-end close
Ensure compliance with company policies internal controls and accounting standards
Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation
Monitor AP aging reports and manage outstanding liabilities
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Provide reporting support to the Staff Accountant and finance leadership
QualificationsQualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred
35 years of accounts payable experience required
Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP and accounts payable best practices
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication and leadership skills
Preferred Skills
Experience supervising an AP team
Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
Process improvement and workflow optimization experience
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
Work Environment
