JOB SUMMARY: The ride engineer intern will get direct exposure to what it takes to be part of an engineering team tasked to deliver a project ride system. The intern will be asked to use engineering basics and principles to assist in the delivery of a project ride system while gaining an understanding of the responsibilities of an engineer and project manager in the themed entertainment industry. Beyond basic engineering tech skills the intern will have numerous opportunities to use and refine soft skills such as communication and coordination across a multidisciplinary team and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate with responsible individuals of varying ride and show scopes to execute project related tasks
- Assist in delivery and execution of ride activities and milestones
- Support creation and review of technical documents and drawings as needed
- Assist in design review compliance and issue resolution
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- In pursuit of an Associate Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Juniors or above.
- Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
- A transcript is required upon application.
- Strong and effective communicator both verbally and written with ability to interface with various departments disciplines and trades
- Detail oriented with ability to orchestrate and execute multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Possess good organizational analytical and problem solving ability
REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Pursuing a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings
- Demonstrated comfort with modeling and 3D printing
- Prior experience with design manufacturing and/or fabrication

- This internship will be an in-person experience based in our Orlando offices.
- Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university and must have a graduation date later than December 2026.
- Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
