Education & Experience
Education and Experience Required:
Degree (Bachelor or Associate) in psychologyor mental health or High School Diploma/GED and two (2) years of direct patient care experience in a mental health facility.
Certifications Licenses or Registration Required:

Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques. Knowledge of patient care charts and histories. Skill in preparing and maintaining patient records.
Verbal and written communications skills.
Interpersonal skills to interact with mental health professionals patients and family members.
Ability to provide therapeutic patient care to mentally emotionally and/or developmentally disabled individuals.
Responsibilities
- Monitors patients physical physiological and behavioral status and progress toward established treatment goals.
- Reports patient observations to supervisor following prescribed procedures and standards.
- Provides care to patients in a method that promotes safety comfort and therapeutic environment.
- Participates in the development and implementation of treatment programs.
- Participates in group sessions training activities and staff meetings; enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs in-service meetings and workshops.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living; attends to patient behavioral difficulties and provides assistance in crisis intervention as needed.
- Serves on at least one hospital or medical center committee task force or project team to improve patient care or work area. Demonstrates core standards of exceptional customer service.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical and Environmental Demands
Requires frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold frequent exposure to bio-hazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure blood borne pathogens fumes or airborne particles and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature frequent work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality. (occasional-up to 20% frequent-from 21% to 50% constant-51% or more)
