Duties & Responsibilities
- Execute exploration campaigns within established frameworks and ensure compliance with technical legal and safety requirements.
- Assist in the technical scanning and evaluation of global mineral asset opportunities to support strategic fit and investment decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during technical reviews to provide expert guidance on exploration methods and industry best practices.
- Develop and manage budgets for exploration campaigns ensuring effective cost control and value optimization.
- Foster strong relationships internally and with external technical partners to facilitate collaborative exploration and project management efforts.
- Conduct techno-economic evaluations of mineral assets to guide decision-making on exploration investments and project prioritization.
- Implement and oversee the application of advanced geoscientific technology in exploration activities to enhance data accuracy and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC) standards promoting a culture of safety and risk management.
- Guide the development and execution of exploration strategies embedding best practices and aligning with broader organizational objectives.
- Manage the flow of exploration data and information supporting effective interpretation and resource estimation processes.
Minimum Requirements
- BSc (Hons) Geology Metallurgy or related field (Essential/Minimum)
- Management Development Programme (Essential/Minimum)
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in exploration and commodity initiatives in the mining/resource industry
- Demonstrable exposure to exploration project management due diligence and business integration activities
- Subject matter expertise in exploration theory geoscientific approaches and project execution across diverse jurisdictions
- Proven ability to support and guide multi-functional technical teams
- Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
- Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
- Membership with Geological Society of SA (GSSA) SA Council for Natural Scientific Prof or Engineering Council of SA is desirable
