Job Summary
Carlow University is currently accepting applications for a full-time tenure-track facultypositionfor anAssistant or Associate rankdependent upon qualificationsin the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)Program. Thisis a nine-month academic appointment to begin in August 2026on theOakland campus in Pittsburgh Pa. The primary responsibilitiesof thisrole are teaching undergraduate social work courses advising students andassistingwith course curricula and program of service and scholarship are expected.
The ideal candidate will be a scholar-practitioner whose work teaching and scholarship are grounded in trauma-informed practices and who is committed to exercising cultural humility and envisioning the future of liberal arts education in a rapidly changing environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Teach 24 creditsper academic year
- Academic advisingand mentoring
- Course curricula and programdevelopment
- Assessment of student learning outcomes
MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL REQUIRED:
- Ph.D. in social work or DSWand anMSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum of two years full-time post-MSW practice experience.
- Minimum of two yearsofexperience teaching in highereducationthat includesdemonstratedexperience with onlinesynchronous and asynchronousteaching to diverse populations.
- Ability to use instructional technologies (Content Management System/LMS; Microsoft Office applications) in support of student learning and professional collaboration.
- Experiencewithinterdisciplinary course development scholarship and collaboration with other university programs and community partners.
- Experience with CSWE national standards and accreditation requirements.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Statesocial work license (LSW or LCSW)isrequired.
