We currently have an opportunity for a National Facilities Manager tojoin our Asset Management & Facilities Management contract with the Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) team and play a key role in delivering the Facilities Management (FM) service across New Zealand.
Te Kōwhiringa The Opportunity
Downer provides asset and facilities services to Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand (LINZ). Aligned to the LINZ Crown Property business unit these are managed as residential (Built Structures) and non-residential (Land & Waterways) property portfolios. These properties are spread across New Zealand in many cases rural and remote locations. The property types are wide ranging and include land residential railway/rail stations lake/riverbeds forests commercial hospital/medical farms state coal reserves and industrial sites.
The National Facilities Managers are responsible for the overall business performance and people/SDP leadership of Downers LINZ sites.
What Youll Do
This role offers a broad scope with key responsibilities including:
Embed and actively promote a Zero Harm culture across all portfolio sites ensuring strong engagement from all team members.
Provide clear leadership and direction to subcontractors and business partners including Downer Direct (Contact Centre).
Manage overall portfolio performance delivering financial targets KPIs and cost control outcomes.
Build and maintain strong collaborative customer relationships with consistently positive interactions.
Identify manage and escalate business risks as required.
Ensure all sites deliver work safely cost-effectively with quality and in line with contracted KPIs and compliance obligations (i.e. BWOF and HSNO); as required.
Take ownership of Priority 1 (P1) and emergency events including after-hours on-call support and escalation management.
Drive effective resourcing subcontractor engagement innovation continuous improvement and embed Downer Values across the portfolio.
This is a fantastic role that will suit someone who is outcome-focused enjoys a challenge and is able to take initiative whilst building great relationships with our team and client. This role is open to candidates residing in Auckland Wellington Christchurch and Hamilton.

Minimum 5 years management experience within the facilities industry.
Strong leadership capability with proven interpersonal skills.
Effective communicator able to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
Strong analytical numerical and data interpretation skills to support evidence-based decision-making.
Demonstrated financial and commercial acumen including cost control and productivity improvement.
Proven ability to drive operational performance ensuring quality outcomes on-time delivery and minimal rework.
Excellent time management organisational skills and commitment to meeting deadlines.
Current knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 intermediate MS Office skills and willingness to travel with a full drivers licence.
