Overview
Piedmont Health System is currently recruiting a Neurocritical Care APP in Atlanta Georgia. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of building a comprehensive stroke center program and grow the neurosciences service line with the vision to become the highest quality and largest program in Georgia.
The service line includes neurosurgery neuro hospitalist and neuro intensivist services with a dedicated 10 bed neuro-ICU unit and thriving spine and brain tumor programs. A brand new 20 bed dedicated neuro-ICU unit will be constructed with anticipated completion in 2022. The neuro-ICU will have 24/7 in-house APP coverage and plans to develop a neurocritical care fellowship program. The neurosciences program shall include the development and growth or a clinical research program. The Piedmont system encompasses six Primary Stroke Centers and one thrombectomy capable center.
This opportunity will allow the right candidate to develop and foster the growth of our program and the ability to access state of the art technology. Piedmont cares for over 2000 medical stroke admissions in the Metro Atlanta area and over 3000 across the entire system. The candidate will be welcomed by the existing team of neurosurgeons and other neuro specialists.

Performs a variety of patient care activities in accordance with established standards and practice. Emphasizes health promotion as well as acute and chronic disease management. Augments a physicians ability to provide medical services to patients; collects and documents data conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations and provides direct patient care services.
Qualifications
Education
- Masters degree Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Masters in Nursing OR graduate of an accredited Physician Assistants program with current license for the Georgia State Composite Board Required
Work Experience
Licenses and Certifications
- ACLS Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Georgia. OR Licensed for Advanced Practice Nursing (ACNP/FNP). Updated NCCPA certification for PAs. BLS and Required
