About the Role:
The school is seeking an experienced and dynamic School Business Manager to lead finance HR operations compliance site management and administrative services. This role requires a strategic thinker who can manage people processes and budgets while ensuring the school runs smoothly on a daily basis.
You will work closely with the Headteacher and governing body to implement financial plans oversee resource management and ensure compliance with all statutory and safeguarding requirements. Your leadership will directly impact the schools ability to deliver high standards of education and student support.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead financial management including budgeting forecasting reporting and procurement.
Manage HR processes recruitment contracts onboarding and compliance checks.
Oversee operations site safety maintenance and facilities management.
Ensure robust risk management safeguarding compliance and policy adherence.
Lead administrative teams ensuring efficient workflows and excellent communication.
Manage contracts service providers negotiations and service-level agreements.
Produce detailed reports for SLT and governors supporting strategic decision-making.
Oversee health and safety emergency planning and regulatory compliance.
Ensure financial controls are monitored evaluated and continuously improved.
Lead on payroll oversight staff absences and workforce planning.
Support the school with audits inspections and stakeholder communications.
Requirements:
Significant experience in school business leadership or similar operational roles.
Strong financial management organisational and leadership skills.
Excellent communication professionalism and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage complex workloads and make informed decisions.
Strong knowledge of school systems safeguarding H&S and compliance frameworks.
