About the Role:
The school is seeking a skilled organised and enthusiastic Art Technician to support the day-to-day functioning of the Art Department. You will work closely with Art Teachers Heads of Faculty and students ensuring materials tools and resources are fully prepared safe and readily available. The role requires someone who is practical creative and attentive to detail with a genuine passion for art and supporting students.
You will help manage stock levels prepare specialist equipment organise displays maintain art spaces and support practical work during lessons. The ideal candidate will be proactive calm and comfortable working in a hands-on role.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare materials equipment and resources for lessons including paints tools clay paper and specialist items.
Maintain clean and organise art rooms studios and storage spaces.
Support teachers and students during practical lessons ensuring safe use of equipment.
Assist with kiln operation printmaking tools craft equipment and digital art devices (training provided if needed).
Manage stock levels order supplies and check deliveries.
Help mount frame and display student artwork for exhibitions and events.
Assist with GCSE and A-Level coursework preparation portfolio organisation and exam materials.
Support the running of after-school clubs workshops and creative events.
Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures COSHH and risk assessments.
Maintain equipment logs and support IT/art software where relevant.
Requirements:
Practical skills in art materials tools or creative processes.
Strong organisation reliability and attention to detail.
Ability to work calmly and proactively in busy studio environments.
Willingness to learn new techniques and support specialist equipment use.
A genuine interest in supporting young artists.
