About the Role:
The school is seeking a reliable safety-conscious and highly organised Science Technician to support the delivery of high-quality practical Science lessons. You will work across Biology Chemistry and Physics preparing materials maintaining equipment and ensuring laboratories meet all safety requirements.

This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail practical understanding of laboratory procedures and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. You will help prepare experiments clean down equipment check chemical stocks support teachers during practical sessions and ensure students can undertake experiments safely.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare practical equipment for Science lessons including reagents apparatus and demonstration materials.
Maintain laboratories preparation rooms and equipment to a high standard of safety and cleanliness.
Support teachers during practical activities ensuring equipment is set up correctly.
Monitor chemical stocks gas canisters electrical equipment and consumables.
Ensure compliance with COSHH CLEAPSS guidelines risk assessments and H&S legislation.
Manage the safe disposal of chemicals and waste materials.
Repair or organise repair of broken equipment.
Organise and label stored materials ensuring efficient stock rotation.
Support GCSE and A-Level practical assessments controlled tasks and required practicals.
Assist with STEM clubs science fairs and enrichment activities.
Maintain accurate records of equipment safety checks and inventories.

Requirements:
Experience in a lab technician role (school or industry).
Strong understanding of lab safety chemicals and equipment.
Excellent organisation and reliability.
Ability to follow safety guidelines precisely.
A proactive and calm approach.
