Job Summary

Qualifications: Current Vermont Cosmetology license Current Vermont Cosmetology instructors license Demonstrates a minimum total of six (6) years of trade experience leading to a broad base of knowledge/skills in the content area. Teaching experience preferred Knowledge of safety regulations in the cosmetology field Ability to work effectively with staff and students A general knowledge of the goals of career & technical education. Eligible for Vermont Professional Apprenticeship License Technology EducationJob Duties: Teach recommended curriculum to prepare students to test for Vermont Cosmetology License Form positive relationships with students and manage a classroom of students Support students production and maintenance of a current career portfolio. Connect students regularly with our work-based learning coordinator and school counseling coordinator to engage in post-secondary education and training Facilitate students production and maintenance of a current career portfolio Foster the development of leadership teamwork effective communication skills attitude and ethics in a manner appropriate to the industry and involve students in the activities of the programs Career Technical Student Organization (CTSO) Facilitate a Program Advisory Committee of industry experts to guide the program Maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping grading and reporting Communicate students progress and challenges to families Participate fully in staff meetings and professional developmentInterested candidates must submit a letter of interest; resume listing three current references (or 3 current letters of reference); copies of transcripts and a copy of appropriate Vermont licensure via (preferred) or to:Gwen Bailey-Rowe NCCC Director209 Veterans AvenueNewport VT 05855or E-mail: Deadline: The application-screening process will begin immediately and continue until a suitable candidate is found.
