About the RoleTo provide high quality and timely processing of pathological specimens through gross examinations necropsies tissue trimming and tissue processing as specified in company protocols and Youll Do HereTrain and become fluent on core SOPsNecropsyOrgan weighingBone marrow smear preparationTissue trimmingDecalcificationUse of an Electronic Data Capture System (EDCS)Heat sealingArchivingQuality check (QC) reviewPA I will train on becoming a Lead Study Technician (LST)What You Need to SucceedReviewing protocols for correctnessAttendance in protocol reviews pre-necropsy meetings and departmental meetingsComplete study set-upMaintaining necropsy suites including other Pathology lab areasMaintaining instruments and equipmentMaintaining facility records (i.e. fridge/freezer storage records wet room storage records equipment use logs)Assist with chemical management by maintaining stock and working solutionsAssist with waste managementOrdering and stockingSpecialized necropsies and tissue trimming procedures as required by protocolsFetal reproductive necropsiesWhat You Need to SucceedBachelor of Science (B.S.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) preferred; Associates degree or additional work experience acceptable6 months to 1 year biological science or laboratory related work if B.S. or B.A. degree requirement not metWorking knowledge of anatomic biologyBasic computer skills MS Office Suite requiredProficiency in English including speaking reading and writingAdvanced Math skills specifically that apply to scientific dataBasic bench chemistry Aptitude for pathology and histology techniquesStrong interpersonal skillsProblem solving skills Strong attention to detailParticipation in company On-Call policyContinual GLP training
