The Burlington School District believes a diverse and culturally proficient faculty and staff are pivotal to the creation of a strong learning environment free of inequities. Accordingly the Burlington School Districts goal is to provide every student with an educational experience enhanced by the professional contributions of culturally competent representatives of different races ethnicity gender physical ability age and sexual preference.
The S.O.A.R. summer program is seeking experienced and energetic teachers to support students in gaining critical reading and math skills through high-quality focused academic programming and through theme-based enrichment activities and field trips over the course of the 5-week summer program.
Please make sure you provide clear evidence of the following criteria in your application.
- Licensed or eligible for Vermont Educators License
- Ability to commit to work all 5 program weeks July 1st - August 1st
- Knowledge of best practices regarding student management protocols and restorative practices
- Knowledge of elementary research-based best practices
- Training and experience with English Language Learners
- Evidence of strong connection with students and families
- Understanding of summer learning or previous experience working in a summer learning program.
Dates and Position Hours:
In-Service Date: (TBD) 1-3 days
Program Dates: June 29th - July 30th M-Th 5 weeks.
Hours: 32 hours/week daily schedule 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday.
