Position Summary:

Prescott Newspapers Inc. is a trusted community newspaper serving Prescott Valley and the surrounding areas and is seeking an experienced Press Operator to join our Prescott Valley Print Facility team.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

This is a full-time day shift position and plays a critical role in pressroom production.

  • Performs all duties required to operate the Goss web press to achieve desired production and quality results.
  • While the press is in operation exercises judgment in determining acceptable and unacceptable output and consistently monitors the quality of printed products.
  • Assists press supervisor(s) in training press operator trainees participating in the PNI Press Operator Trainee Program.
  • Works toward established newsprint waste standards and actively supports waste reduction initiatives.
  • Performs preventative maintenance during planned and unplanned downtime to ensure the press and related equipment remain in proper working order.
  • Maintains certification in the operation of forklift clamp truck and pallet jack.
  • Stacks and organizes empty pallets as part of production workflow.
  • Complies with and actively supports all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders up to 25 feet.
