The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry is accepting nominations and applications for a full-time tenure earning Clinical Scholar faculty position in the Department of Orthodontics. The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry seeks faculty candidates with a demonstrated record of didactic and clinical teaching in orthodontics as well as patient oriented research in orthodontics and basic science or translational/clinical research in the area of genetics of dental/craniofacial development. Opportunities exist for Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor ranks. Academic rank salary and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Required Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have a DDS / DMD degree from a CODA accredited program be board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and licensed or eligible for unrestricted licensure by the Board of Dental Examiners of Alabama. Candidates must also have a PhD and are expected to acquire external research funding over time. They should demonstrate a strong background in program administration teaching and creativity in research and scholarship. Consideration of applicants will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
