Position Summary
The 3rd Grade Math Teacher is responsible for delivering rigorous standards-aligned mathematics instruction that builds strong conceptual understanding procedural fluency and problem-solving skills. This teacher creates a structured and engaging classroom environment where all students are supported in developing confidence and independence as mathematical thinkers.
This role is ideal for an educator who embraces instructional coaching as a tool for growth values collaboration and holds consistently high expectations for student achievement while building strong relationships with students and families.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Planning
- Deliver high-quality mathematics instruction aligned to Oklahoma Academic Standards
- Plan and internalize lessons preparing materials and anticipating student needs
- Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instruction and support student growth
- Provide targeted support and enrichment to ensure all students make strong academic progress
Classroom Environment
- Establish a structured joyful and academically focused classroom culture
- Maintain clear academic and behavioral expectations
- Foster student confidence and perseverance in mathematics
Collaboration & Professional Growth
- Collaborate with grade-level teammates instructional coaches and support staff
- Actively participate in Santa Fe Souths instructional coaching model
- Contribute to professional learning and campus initiatives
Family & Professional Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with students and families through consistent communication
- Maintain accurate records and fulfill professional responsibilities
- Contribute positively to campus culture
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution
- Oklahoma teaching certification (or eligibility) in Elementary Education or Mathematics
- Commitment to Santa Fe Souths mission and the students and communities we serve
Preferred
- Experience teaching mathematics in grades 25
- Strong understanding of evidence-based math instruction
- Experience using student data to drive instruction
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills
- Experience working in diverse or high-need school communities
- Demonstrated growth mindset and openness to feedback
