Are you a transformational leader looking to make an impact

We are seeking a strategic and innovative Director Business and Service Development with a strong focus on Mental Health services to drive growth across our Burwood and Richmond Hospitals.

Reporting to the CEO this executive role will be pivotal in implementation of the SJGHC Mental Health Strategy expansion of contemporary models of care and identification of new business and service development opportunities.

You will shape revenue and margin growth initiatives guide the annual business planning cycle and lead VMO engagement recruitment retention and performance optimisation. Approximately 75% of the role focuses on our NSW Mental Health hospitals (Burwood and Richmond) with the remaining 25% supporting groupwide Mental Health strategy and partnerships.

This is a key leadership opportunity to influence organisational performance drive innovation and deliver meaningful outcomes for patients and the community.

The Position

  • Create and lead a culture of innovation that will position SJGHC on the forefront of private Mental Health Service delivery.

  • Lead the operationalisation of the SJGHC Mental Health Strategy locally and across the group driving innovation market share growth and contemporary models of care.

  • Identify develop and lead the implementation of the Hospitals strategies to increase revenue and margin.

  • Identify develop and lead the implementation of specific business and service development opportunities.

  • Lead the strategic and tactical engagement of VMOs including development of new and innovative VMO recruitment and retention strategies nurturing relationships with current and potential VMO candidates and representing the Hospital and SJGHC in those interactions.

  • Lead the development of annual Hospital business and clinical services plans which support the achievement of the hospitals clinical operational and financial targets.

  • Bring learnings and insights from around the globe within and outside of the healthcare industry to expand current service capability and offering.

  • Lead the identification development implementation and evaluation of new clinical and non-clinical services including emerging treatments and therapies.

  • Manage the Hospitals pipeline of service development opportunities to ensure maximum impact and outcomes.

  • Identify design and implement a connected ecosystem of Mental Health services including community care models multidisciplinary outreach teams and telehealth options that meet consumer and funder expectations.

  • Establish strengthen and nurture collaborative relationships with key external partners government and professional bodies.

  • Develop and implement external marketing and consumer activation strategies to build brand awareness service reputation and drive hospital activity

You will bring a tertiary qualification in commerce business or a related discipline or equivalent highlevel experience gained in a strategic leadership role within a large and complex organisation. You will demonstrate substantial senior management experience with a proven track record of leading commercial and consumerfocused functions driving strategic outcomes and delivering organisational growth and performance in similarly complex environments.

To succeed you will demonstrate outstanding stakeholder engagement capabilities with highly developed interpersonal oral communication negotiation and conflictresolution skills that enable you to build trusted relationships across clinical corporate and external partner groups. You bring a strong working knowledge of the private healthcare sector supported by advanced analytical skills and confidence in using data market intelligence and systems to drive service growth and inform decisionmaking.

You will also have a proven ability to translate strategy into actionable operational outcomes ensuring key objectives are met through disciplined planning performance monitoring and continuous improvement. Your demonstrated project management acumen enables you to lead complex initiatives manage competing priorities and deliver successful outcomes within a dynamic and evolving healthcare environment.
