An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chief of Product Performance to join the ET&S Team in Derby. This is a Global Senior Leadership and Delivery Role reporting into the Head of Systems Engineering & Product Performance.

The Chief of Product Performance will cover the scope of all functional attributes of the products (e.g. power thrust fuel consumption temperature pressure and shaft speed limits) and the functional data for designing the products consistent with the digital strategy for the toolset. The role is based in Derby however you will support a global team and travel will be required as part of the position.

What you will be doing:

As the Chief of Product Performance you will be accountable for design toolsets methods process development and process improvement for all Product Performance aspects and interfaces and agreement of the toolsets with the Digital teams:

• Lead and drive efficiency to enable delivery teamwork and implementing continuous improvement and operational best practice.
• Apply product safety process including a commitment to continuous improvement and safety assurance.
• Apply Health Safety and the Environment policy including a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Lead engage and develop assigned personnel to become suitably qualified and experienced (SQEP) including leadership of other managers and assigned specialists.
• Load/capacity planning for the assigned team working with the wider function to ensure suitable SQEP are available to complete programme deliverables.
• Be accountable for SQCDP (Safety Quality Cost Delivery People) measures and performance for the aligned capability group.
• Lead the appropriate section of the Engineering strategy and drive this to completion supported by functional leadership.
• Ensure compliance to process throughout the life cycle activity for the assigned team including as appropriate any third parties/MSPs working on behalf of the area.
• Ensure that world class rules tools and methods are developed and utilised effectively across the group focusing on greater use of automation digital tools and lean processes to drive efficiency.
• Drive and support the transition to model-based reusable product lines at system product system and component level.
• Own the performance and reward management export and security clearance for assigned personnel.
• Create and maintain strategic and tactical resource plans in line with the Do/Buy Strategy to meet the overall delivery commitments.
• Own the overall capability strategy and associated roadmap and ensure resources necessary to deliver the roadmap.

Position qualifications:

• Qualified to degree level or equivalent

Preferred requirements:

• Good understanding of engineering processes
• Demonstrates sound engineering judgement and knowledge
• Has provided effective technical and professional leadership to a team of engineers and other management level personnel.
• Capable and experienced in building high performing global teams and effecting a positive shift in attitudes and behaviours including high cultural awareness and adaptability.
• Demonstration of commercial acumen in engineering decision making.
• Experienced in applying process improvement techniques and driving business improvements.
• International travel.
