This includes but is not limited to:Assisting with onboarding and ongoing training;Providing timely feedback;Addressing performance concerns;Troubleshooting staff and volunteer-related issues;Assisting with the completion of annual performance reviews for staff; as a champion of the BC SPCA Health & Safety program ensuring that safe work practices are implemented and are being carried out to protect staff volunteers and animals from injury and/or as a conduit of information by communicating both internally and externally as important information to staff volunteers and other key internal stakeholders; receives information from these parties and ensures Animal Center Manager has all required information to sustain day-to-day with external stakeholders to promote humane animal care address animal welfare issues and promote the activities of the shelter in accordance with BC SPCAs mission and the proper administration of the collective agreement and participates in issue/grievance resolution as in overseeing the implementation of high customer service standards and in monitoring overall customer satisfaction in the Animal Center/location through training and with escalated customer service complaints that cannot be resolved directly by the parties appropriate customer service in volunteer needs assessments and implementation of location volunteer engagement and retention programs/ local Better Impact account and ensures the system is being used effectively to provide the required key performance indicators of volunteer Center Operations:Assists the Animal Center Manager in attaining and maintaining optimum welfare standards in the shelter at all times as defined by the ASV guidelines ShelterSense programs and related BC SPCA in meeting length of stay targets through ensuring effective implementation of transfer programs and the Animal Center Manager with administrative functions including inventory scheduling payroll and completion of financial paperwork in a timely Animal Center Manager in preparing an annual budget and ensures compliance with the approved Animal Center budget on a monthly basis. Works collaboratively with cruelty investigations department to ensure appropriate Animal Center response to cruelty investigations. Assists with execution of municipal contracts where includes understanding applicable bylaws being able to explain them to internal and external stakeholders and ultimately ensuring compliance to any municipal in local and provincial fund-raising initiatives including third party and develops adoption events to promote animals at the BCSPCA and to increase community awareness of adoptable animals. Assists with the development and implementation of community outreach the BC SPCA at community events when required seeking advantageous partnerships with community businesses vendors and opportunities to promote the BC SPCA at community events in order to strengthen relationships with corporate sponsors and in the collaboration efforts with community partners to address animal welfare issues in a positive relationships with municipal government rescues veterinarians social services and other stakeholders to address animal concerns in the as a point of contact for existing and potential adoption partners. Establishes cooperative relationships secures and ensures proper contact compliance and coordinates the adoption of shelter be assigned projects that support the strategic direction of the Animal other duties as Qualifications:Post-secondary education in a related field plus 3-5 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the experience includes but is not limited to:Formal supervision;Customer service:Direct animal care; andExperience working with volunteers and/or in a non-profit Class 5 BC drivers license and drivers interest in all aspects of animal welfare and philosophical harmony with the mission vision and guiding principles of the BC to manage multiple priorities organize time and deliver effective verbal and written communication computer skills - use of Microsoft Office and other computer software including databases and/or payroll to do heavy lifting pushing and pulling on a regular basis; must be able to work with and around harmony with the vision mission and strategic directions of the BC to apply:If you would like to be a part of our BCSPCA team and are legally entitled to work in Canada we would like to hear from you.
