Job Summary: Reporting to the Plant Manager the Instrumentation and Control Technician is responsible for supporting the air separation plant by maintaining all plant instrumentation and electrical equipment (i.e. control devices programmable logic controllers (PLCs) process computers process analyzers transmitters pneumatic control devices and electrical equipment valves).
Key Responsibilities
Support and comply with all health safety and environmental procedures as indicated by the local and corporate HSE department.
Calibration and testing of all safety critical systems equipment protection and quality control components.
Troubleshooting and replacement of faulty or failed instrumentation including actuators controllers solenoids transmitters switches sensors and analyzers.
Responsible for the Instrumentation Preventive Maintenance Work Order System and achieving 100% compliance.
Order spare parts and components and keep critical spare parts in stock for the plant.
Work closely with contractors and monitor quality of work.
Respond to evening and weekend service calls to ensure continuity of plant operations.
Provides assistance other locations in their domain of expertise as required constituting approximately 20% of the positions work load (vehicle provided)

Required Qualifications
AEC or DEP in industrial automation or DEC in Instrumentation and Controls.
4 to 6 years experience in an industrial plant and process environment.
Experience in operation and maintenance of process electrical hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred.
Previous plant and/or industrial gas experience is a plus.
Valid drivers license.
Some overnight travel is required (limited)
Preferred Qualifications
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work.
Ability to read and understand equipment manuals wiring diagrams and process schematics.
Knowledge and experience of process analyzer maintenance and calibration.
Ability to recognize understand analyze and solve technical problems.
Working knowledge and experience of high/medium voltage electrical switchgear.
