Position Summary

The Architectural Technologist plays an essential role in supporting the design and construction process by creating detailed technical drawings and specifications that translate architectural concepts into buildable solutions. This individual works closely with architects engineersand construction teams to ensure designscomply withbuilding codes regulationsand project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare architectural design drawings site plans floor plans and renderings for RFPresponses and new construction projects

• Prepare comprehensive building design packages including detailed drawings specifications for new buildings building renovations

• Coordinate the Project design intent client program and specification requirementswith external consultant team though all phases of the project

• Participate in the preparation of standard construction details and specificationsfor YorkConstruction

• Stay up to date with industry trends construction technology and building codes for new buildings and building renovations

• Participate in external educational offerings for advancements in Building Code Building Envelope and Construction Systems

• Coordinate file sharing standards with external consultants onAutodeckConstruction Cloud

• Other duties as assigned
  

What you bring to York

• Degree or Diploma in Architecture and / or Architectural Technology
• A minimum of 3 years experience as an Architectural Designer or Technologist
• Proficiencyin Revit AutoCAD with the ability to produceaccurateand detailed drawings

• Working knowledge ofEnscape Photoshop and Bluebeam

• Possessgood written and verbal communication skills

• Willingness to work within a collaborative team structure

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently

• Possess a good understanding of local building codes and zoning by-laws

• Possess good organizational and file management skills
