Job Summary

Special Education teaching position in a classroom.

It is the teachers responsibility to provide his / her students with the best learning experience possible. The teacher should help develop each student to his / her maximum potential.

Area of Responsibility
Duties include but not limited to the following:

Develop and maintain a classroom environment conductive to effective learning
Prepare for classes assigned and shows written evidence (lesson plans) of preparation upon request of administration
Serve as disciplinarian
Employ a variety of instructional techniques and materials
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities
Evaluate student progress on a regular basis
Maintain accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulation
Provide for his / her own professional growth through an ongoing program concerning both the broad academic and behavior progress of all assigned students
Accept a share of responsibility for curricular and extra-curricular activities as assigned
Assist in the selection of books equipment and other instructional materials
Attend and participates in faculty meetings in-service and professional development
Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules administrative regulations and board policy
Demonstrate knowledge and teach the district and state curricula
Perform other duties as assigned by the administration
