Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Paving Foreman to lead our asphalt paving crew on commercial municipal and residential projects. The Paving Foreman is responsible for supervising daily job site operations ensuring crew productivity maintaining high-quality workmanship and enforcing safety standards. This role plays a key part in delivering jobs on time on budget and to client specifications.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead supervise and coordinate the activities of the paving crew
- Read and interpret project plans grades and specifications
- Plan daily tasks and allocate resources equipment and manpower accordingly
- Monitor and adjust paving operations to ensure proper compaction thickness and smoothness
- Ensure crew members follow safety policies wear proper PPE and comply with all site protocols
- Complete detailed daily reports using construction management software including tracking work performed materials used and labor hours for all employees
- Inspect completed work for quality accuracy and compliance with job specs
- Work closely with the Superintendent or Project Manager to address schedule changes and site issues
- Complete detailed daily reports using construction management software including tracking work performed materials used and labor hours for all employees
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications (Experience Education & Certifications Key Attributes):
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. - 5 years of experience in asphalt paving with at least 12 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of paving materials equipment (pavers rollers etc.) and techniques
- Ability to read and understand blueprints grades and paving specs
- Excellent leadership communication and problem-solving skills
- Proven track record of managing productivity quality and safety in the field
- Valid drivers license required; CDL is a plus
- Ability to work long hours including weekends and evenings as needed
- Must be willing to travel overnight when projects are outside the local area
