About this role
ThePreqinResearch Insights team at BlackRock producesmore than 75high-impact research reports annually delivering data-driven insights across the private markets landscape. We are seekingaProduction Assistant to join our team and play a key role in the layout formatting and production of these reportsidentifyingand implementing AItools andsolutionsacross the workflow.This role is ideal for a technically skilled designerand self-starteralso expected to contribute to our AI-enabled futureidentifyingwhere AI can improve user workflows and where it must be applied thoughtfully with transparency controls and measurable value.
Key responsibilities
Design format and produce research reportsand publications using Adobe InDesign and Illustratorandidentifyandestablishefficienciesthroughrange ofsoftware platforms
Explore test and help develop AI-enhanced production workflowsincluding AI agents that streamline chart creation automate formatting tasks and support scalable report production.
Collaboration with engineering/data/ML partners to translate user needs into AI-assisted capabilities
Create and output a high volume of charts and tablesfrom complex Excel anddata-richinputsmaintainingaccuracy consistency and accessibility across reportswithquality checks and delivery for digital and printpublication
Collaborate with editorial production and research teams to translate technical content into clean accessible and visually engagingcharts andlayouts
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously meeting tight deadlines while upholdinghigh standardsof quality and precision.
Familiarity with AI product patterns and risks: understanding of model limitations evaluation approaches and product mechanisms to improve reliability
Contribute to the improvement of templates workflows and production processes ensuring efficiency and repeatability acrossouroutput
Support the team inmaintainingversion control asset management and documentation of standard operating procedures
Provide occasionaloff-hourssupport during peak publicationperiods
Whatwerelooking for
At least 2-3 years of experience in a design or production role ideally within financial servicespublishing
Hands-on comfort using AI tools in daily workwithappropriate judgmentand confidentiality
Bachelorsdegree in Graphic Design Communication Design or a related field preferred.
Advancedproficiencyin Adobe Creative Suite particularlyInDesignIllustrator andPhotoshopwith ability to pivot quickly intomore efficient alternatives
Strong understanding of typography layout composition and visual hierarchy
Experience designing long-form content such as research reports whitepapers or editorialpublications
Confidence working with data-heavy content including the ability to interpret data packs and outputaccuratewell-designedcharts and tables
Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively withcross-functionalteams
Strong organizational skills attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint)
