Position Summary
Enfield Public Schools seeks an innovative student-centered Assistant Principal to join the leadership team at Enfield High School. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative instructional leader committed to equity academic rigor positive school culture and aligned with the mission and values of the Enfield Board of Education.
The Assistant Principal will support the building principal in fostering high expectations for students and staff advancing instructional excellence ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment and strengthening partnerships with families and the community.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Connecticut Intermediate Administrator Certification (CTDOE 092).
- Masters degree or higher in Educational Leadership or related field.
- Demonstrated leadership experience within a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum instruction and assessment practices.
- Exceptional communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in secondary-level leadership.
- Expertise in data-driven decision-making and evidence-based intervention systems.
- Experience supervising certified and non-certified staff.
- Familiarity with restorative practices culturally responsive leadership and family/community engagement strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support development implementation and monitoring of high-quality instructional practices.
- Promote a safe respectful and positive school climate aligned with district expectations.
- Manage student discipline using equitable and restorative approaches.
- Assist in oversight of staffing evaluations schedules and operational systems.
- Collaborate with teachers students families and community partners to support academic and social-emotional success.
- Facilitate/supervise afterschool events/activities.
- Analyze data to improve instruction school culture and student outcomes.
- Uphold district policies BOE mission and professional standards of leadership.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Instructional Leadership: Ability to coach educators using research-based practices promote high standards and support continuous improvement.
- Equity-Centered Leadership: Commitment to inclusivity culturally responsive practices and reducing barriers to learning.
- Collaborative Decision-Making: Ability to build trust facilitate dialogue and lead through shared leadership models.
- Effective Communication: Clear proactive communication with students staff families and community stakeholders.
- Data-Informed Management: Skillful use of qualitative and quantitative data to guide decisions and monitor progress.
- Organizational Excellence: Strong planning follow-through and ability to manage complex school operations.
