Overview
The New York School of Career and Applied Studies (NYSCAS) at Touro University seeks a dedicated faculty member to contribute to the Business and Accounting Department at its main campus in the vibrant 3 Times Square location. This role involves delivering high-quality instruction engaging in scholarly research and publication and actively participating in university service. Semesters comprise 15 sessions with a maximum enrollment of 25 students per course. Proficiency in the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) and the Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
Responsibilities
- Instructional Delivery:
- Teach four courses per semester (Spring and Fall) accommodating diverse scheduling needs including day evening and Sunday classes.
- Deliver instruction in a hybrid modality seamlessly integrating in-person classroom teaching with concurrent Zoom sessions.
- Develop and maintain engaging and effective course materials and assessments.
- Scholarly Activity:
- Conduct and disseminate business-relevant research through publications in reputable scholarly and professional journals and books.
- University Service:
- Actively participate in university committees and contribute to the broader academic community.
- Attend and contribute to faculty meetings and engage in the intellectual life of the university.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Masters degree in a relevant field required.
- Doctorate preferred.
- Terminal degree (e.g. Ph.D. DBA) in a relevant discipline preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively particularly under pressure.
- Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills fostering positive working relationships with colleagues and students.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills demonstrating professionalism and maturity in diverse social and professional settings.
- Proven ability to teach effectively in a hybrid learning environment integrating in-person and online modalities.
Travel
- Travel may be required to other Touro University campuses within the New York City area.
Working Conditions
- Instruction will primarily take place at the 3 Times Square campus and via Zoom.
