JOB- CAD Technician
LOCATION- Glasgow
TERM- Permanent
SALARYper annum dependent on experience
My client specialises in bespoke design and fabrication for the Construction industry and they are looking to take on a CAD Technician on a permanent basis in the Glasgow area.
The CAD Technician will ideally have the following attributes:
- 2 years experience in a similar CAD Operation / Design Engineering / Mechanical Engineering position
- Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD SolidWorks Revit etc.
- Any previous experience of working with bespoke metalwork structural steel Cladding or similar would be beneficial
- Experience using BIM360 Viewpoint or similar software would be beneficial
- Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar would be beneficial
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Proficient using MS Office
- Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
- Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
The CAD Technician role will involve:
- Working within the current engineering team with other CAD Technicians
- Producing 3D designs using AutoCAD software
- Liaising with manufacturing providers and Assembly teams
- Being involved in final assembly of products
- Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
- Updating 3D models and drawings
- Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
- Checking drawings for sign off
- Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
