Database Associate II

Job Overview:

The Database Associate II will provide technical services (Electronic Data Capture Remote Data Capture Oracle Clinical and Bedside Data Capture) on assigned projects to achieve project integrity and the delivery of on time quality data.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Perform all activities related to study build and design including preparing eCRF specification or annotated data capture instruments and screen development.
• May participate in sponsor screen design review meetings.
• Create the Edit check specification.
• Write validation/derivation procedures based on the Edit Check Specification eCRF specification or data capture instrument and the protocol.
• May conduct quality control of study build and design activities including eCRF specification or annotated data capture instruments screen design validation checks and edit check specification.
• Creation of test data/scripts to test both the screen design and validation checks.
• May perform peer review of test cases written by other team members.
• May participate in client meetings study initiation visits and study update meetings.
• Regularly inform CDARO Project Manager and/or client of progress of projects potential problems and overall status of the study build and design.
• May provide clinical sites with training on screen design and data entry conventions.
• Implement processes as they are refined or as new processes are developed and may also initiate and participate in the ongoing review of the processes to ensure they are continually improved.
• May participate and support in developing and implementing improved SOPs validation standards and work procedures as required.
• May assist in mentoring and training other Clinical Operations and Data Management staff and may participate with SOP best practices and process improvement teams as assigned.
• May interact with IT on study build and design issues.
• Good time management and organization skills the ability to prioritize own work to meet tight deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of work.
• Effective communication skills; a cooperative and team-oriented approach.
• All other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

• University/college degree (computer science life science pharmacy or related subject preferred) or certification in a related allied health profession from an appropriately accredited institution (e.g. nursing certification medical or laboratory technology).
• Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.

Experience (Minimum Required):

• Minimum of 1-year clinical research experience in database maintenance and programming (additional experience may be substituted for education requirements).
• Knowledge of basic Simple Query Language (SQL) is preferred.
• Knowledge of EDC or Oracle Clinical database is preferred.
• Knowledge of data management is preferred.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

• Office working conditions.
• Must be able to use hands to control computer keyboard usage for up to 8 hours per day.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required.
• Potential travel for cross-site support needs meetings or training needs
