Job Description

Role: Production Planning & Purchasing

Location: Peterborough

Hours: 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday

Salary: 30000 - 32000

This is a key position within a small collaborative business where youll influence strategy while remaining operationally involved in day-to-day planning and resource management.

Youll oversee production planning purchasing stock control compliance and warehouse operations ensuring the business runs efficiently profitably and ready to grow into new markets.

What will you be doing

  • Lead production planning at both strategic and daily operational levels
  • Ensure raw materials are available to meet manufacturing schedules
  • Manage stock levels supplier performance and purchasing targets
  • Negotiate supplier pricing and manage supplier relationships
  • Monitor production efficiency and identify cost-saving improvements
  • Maintain ISO FSC and environmental compliance standards

Experience/qualifications required:

  • Production planning or production management experience
  • Purchasing and supplier negotiation experience
  • Background in manufacturing (labour-intensive environment desirable)
  • Knowledge of ISO quality systems (ISO 9001 preferred)
  • Experience with stock control and resource planning
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
