The academy is looking for a Food Technology Teacher who can deliver engaging and practical lessons that develop students culinary skills nutritional knowledge and understanding of food science. Food Technology is a popular subject at GCSE with strong uptake and positive examination outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Teaching Food Technology across KS3 and GCSE (A Level desirable)
Planning and delivering practical theory-based and assessment-focused lessons
Supporting NEA coursework and moderation processes
Maintaining high standards of health and safety in food preparation areas
Tracking student progress and implementing intervention strategies
Contributing to curriculum development within the Technology Faculty
There is also opportunity to support enrichment activities such as cooking clubs and healthy living initiatives.
QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Degree in Food Technology Nutrition or related discipline
Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen management
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Commitment to raising attainment and supporting all learners
Both experienced teachers and ECTs are encouraged to apply.
