- Lead and manage mechanical design activities including the creation and review of 3D models 2D drawings and bills of materials
- Manage engineering data within CAD and PDM/PLM systems ensuring accuracy traceability and compliance with standards
- Collaborate with customers suppliers and cross-functional teams to define requirements and ensure successful project delivery
- Lead design reviews and ensure designs meet customer specifications regulatory quality and manufacturing requirements
- Support product development from concept through to production ensuring timelines milestones and technical objectives are achieved
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers while identifying opportunities for design improvement and optimisation
- Minimum 15 years post-graduate experience in mechanical design preferably within the automotive or commercial vehicle industry
- Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing design projects in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced CAD experience with strong knowledge of engineering data management systems toggle (PDM/PLM)
- Strong computer literacy including advanced Microsoft Excel skills and digital engineering tools
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities meet deadlines and maintain high attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with customers and stakeholders
- Matric
- BEng BSc or BTech degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
