FAO Country Offices working under overall corporate guidance and in line with the Strategic Framework offer policy advice and support to countries in the mandated areas of FAO facilitated through partnerships resources and an active country programme to provide technical assistance develop capacities and deliver core services while fully observing international standards of accountability to establish leadership and strengthen impact at the country level.
The offices deliver on the programmatic priorities of each country as agreed in their respective Country Programming Frameworks (CPFs) aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) and ensure effective and efficient operations with adequate human and financial resources.
Specifically FAO Country Offices:
advocate inform and support policies and investments in the areas of FAOs mandate;
provide technical assistance and deliver core services;
assist and catalyse partnership and resource mobilization activities to support agrifood systems transformation;
position FAO as the specialized/authoritative technical agency in food and agriculture and agrifood systems transformation; and
ensure risk-smart and accountable operations and management.
The position is located in the FAO Country Office in Islamabad
The following position is at SB3 SC6 level.
Reporting Lines
Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative in Pakistan and in direct supervision of Assistant FAO Representative (Administration) and in close collaboration with HR Specialist and Regional Human Resource unit the Incumbent acts independently in routine matters in the area of HR.
Technical Focus
The incumbent undertakes human resources tasks. He /she ensures quality and consistency of functions and processes. The job role requires in-depth knowledge and interpretation of Human resources policies procedures and practices. The incumbent provides procedural and policy guidance to managers and staff in and outside the work unit.
Tasks and responsibilities
Coordinate the overall hiring plan for hiring of national and international affiliate workforce.
Review Terms of Reference of affiliate workforce and ensure compliance with current standards and regulations.
Coordinate and manage the publication of calls to attract candidates for vacancies related to national and international affiliate workforce ensuring proper dissemination to attract qualified talent.
Organize and facilitate the selection process including coordinating interviews with the selection panel and preparing reports on evaluated candidates.
Manage the complete cycle of contracts for national and international affiliate workforce in the Global Resource Management System (GRMS) ensuring the collection and verification of required documentation.
Provide administrative support including recording worked hours for the payment of fees to national and international consultants and other related tasks.
Assist in the performance evaluation process of national and international consultants providing logistical and administrative support for the preparation and recording of their performance evaluation reports (QAR).
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Perform other tasks as required.

Minimum Requirements
Advanced university degree in Business Administration Human Resources or related field.
Five (05) years of relevant experience in Human Resources
Working knowledge of English and Working knowledge of the Urdu.
