The Role
The Associate Superintendent of Learning provides strategic leadership and holds delegated line authority from the Superintendent of Schools for all areas within their this role the Associate Superintendent collaborates closely with the Superintendent and the executive team supports schools in achieving the goals outlined in the divisional Strategic Plan Education Plan and School Education Plans and oversees leaders who deliver daytoday guidance to school administration and advance internal portfolio work including Learning Support. The successful candidate will also support parents in addressing concerns unresolved at the classroom or school level work collaboratively across all organizational functions to ensure students meet provincial standards of education and perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will hold or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate and Leadership or Superintendent Leadership Quality Standard certification along with a masters degree in educational leadership Inclusion Curriculum or Instruction. With 15 years of teaching and educational leadership experience including central office or school administrationthey bring broad expertise in inclusive learning curriculum implementation assessment instructional practice professional learning strategic planning and technology integration. They have a proven record of leading highperforming teams building strong collaborative relationships and working effectively across the organization to achieve shared goals.
The incumbent will be a personable approachable leader who is a strong communicator with a good understanding and ability to lead initiatives in support of divisional goals.
