University Arms is a 192-bedroom design-led Hotel situated in the heart of Cambridge United Kingdom. Overlooking Parkers Piece is the Hotels quintessentially British Restaurant and Bar Parkers Tavern Library Lounge and beautiful 272 square metre wood panelled Ballroom.

Opened in 1834 as a Coaching Inn University Arms is Cambridges oldest Hotel. For 180 years the Hotel was added to updated and modernised in line with the age; however it was the reopening in 2018 after a four-year 80m full renovation that really positioned the Hotel. It is now Cambridges go to destination alluring visitors with the promise of a sense of modern luxury.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING

As a Housekeeping Supervisor you will play a key role in overseeing daily housekeeping operations conducting inspections and guiding Team Members to deliver consistent luxury standards. You will work closely with the Assistant Head Housekeeper and Head Housekeeper to ensure an efficient well-coordinated operation

THE DUTIES

• Supervise daily housekeeping activities across guest rooms and public areas
• Conduct room inspections to ensure cleanliness and brand standards are met
• Support train and motivate room attendants and housekeeping staff
• Allocate tasks monitor progress and report any issues or maintenance needs
• Ensure trolley linen and pantry areas are clean organised and fully stocked
• Handle guest requests and resolve issues professionally
• Monitor adherence to health safety and hygiene procedures
• Support stock management ordering and inventory checks
• Assist with new starter onboarding and ongoing team development
• Communicate effectively with the front office and maintenance team

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

• Have previous experience as a Senior Room Attendant or Housekeeping Supervisor (luxury hotel experience preferred)
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and quality control
• Have strong leadership and communication skills
• Are proactive organised and able to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
• Are confident in handling guest interactions and solving problems
• Work well both independently and as part of a team
• Are flexible to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays
