Job Summary
Requisition Summary
The Continuous Improvement Intern will work with PPS Safety & Health Human Resources and other groups around the factory. Functions will include continuous improvement kaizen events time studies and Safety & Health projects.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Assist with continuous improvement projects including facilitating workshops and supporting process and safety improvement initiatives.
- Responsible for facilitating continuous improvement and Kaizen events.
- Conduct time studies to support balancing of production line labor.
- Provide support in various Safety & Health projects relating to analytics and risk assessments in a manufacturing setting.
- Assist in the preparation and performance of safety meetings and training programs.
- Conduct work area safety inspections and audits with special emphasis on hazard recognition unsafe behaviors and suggested corrections.
Qualifications
We are looking for students currently enrolled in a degree program for Process Engineering Business Administration or a related field.
Excellent candidates will possess:
- Have experience working with Microsoft Office products and SharePoint.
- Lean Belt experience/certification preferred.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects/tasks.
- Ability to multi-task adapt in our environment and change priorities quickly if assembly needs dictate.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people and function.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical and problem solving skills.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of and ability to successfully apply Six Sigma tools and methodology is a plus.

The salary range for internship positions is $25 an hour for undergraduate students and $30 an hour for graduate students.
