Job Summary

Description

This position will contribute to three initiatives: promoting HIV/HCV and substance use screenings in the community supporting Youth Advisory Board (YAB) and Community Consortium activities as they relate to substance use and overseeing educational activities related to substance use. The position will report directly to the Project Director for the grant and will work closely with the clinics Outreach Coordinator. The Opioid Peer Coordinator will report to the Project Director of the Opioid Grant.



Responsibilities

HIV/HCV/Substance Use Screening Duties: 30%

  • Obtain certification in rapid HIV testing (500/501 training through Department of Health)
  • Work with the Outreach Coordinator and Testing Team to create a program for YYC Outreach screenings for youth in Hillsborough County
  • Interact with case managers social workers linkage to care coordinators to ensure continuity of care and awareness of grant initiatives for minority youth with HIV HCV or substance misuse needs
  • Assist with data management for grant deliverables tracking screenings
  • Assist in HIV/STI testing processes at YYC per availability and clinic needs

YAB and Consortium Duties: 30%

  • Work with Outreach Team to promote YAB attendance in line with grant deliverables and provide educational content related to substance use for meetings
  • Work with Program Director to plan Consortium content related to substance use in line with grant deliverables
  • Assist in planning and execution of Wellness Summit for Youth

Educational Duties: 30%

  • Work with the Outreach Team to publicize YYC services and prevention messaging to youth communities
  • Assist in developing social media campaigns tailored to substance use prevention
  • Work with consultants from Northeastern University and USF to develop educational materials and media tools aimed at patients and area providers
  • Work with Education Team to coordinate efforts across outreach clinic Afterhours and social media activities

Other duties as needed and appropriate: 10%



Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This position requires a bachelors degree in a field directly related to the program responsibilities and two years of professional experience; or Masters degree in an area of specialization appropriate for the program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in public health or related field or equivalent work experience
  • HIV 500/501 certified
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Adept in use of Microsoft Office tools
