Purpose of Position
The mission of the College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines (CNPD) is to provide excellent and collaborative education scholarship and service to advance human well-being for all with an emphasis on rural and underserved populations.
The University of North Dakotas CNPD is comprised of the departments of Nursing Nutrition and Dietetics and Social Work as well as the Children & Family Services Training Center. For this position the graduate nursing department seeks a full-time non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor who will be appointed as the Post Masters Doctor of Nursing Practice ( DNP ) Program Director.
The PM DNP Program Director has a primary responsibility to provide leadership for the overall planning organization and evaluation of the PM DNP Program. This faculty member works collaboratively with administrators and faculty in assuring the provision of a high-quality academic program. The PM DNP Program Director is a member of the Nursing Graduate Council. The director is under the supervision of the Chair of the Graduate Nursing Department and is responsible for assuring that standards and policies of the School of Graduate Studies are met.
This position allows a hybrid work arrangement for candidates in a commutable distance to the UND campus.
Duties & Responsibilities
- 60% - Teaching and Advising Students in the PM DNP track (includes advising independent study projects). Potential courses to be taught include: o NURS 608 Healthcare Leadership Economics and Finance o NURS 609 DNP Project Teams o NURS 610 DNP Capstone o NURS 614 DNP Culture of Safety & Ethics - (Essential)
- 30% - Serve as Program Director for the Post Masters Doctor of Nursing Practice Program o Provide leadership for curriculum development implementation & evaluation of the PM DNP track. o Promote development of the PM DNP program at the local state and national level o Maintain all pertinent records for the PM DNP program as required o Serve as program representative at various meetings o Report applicable measures as part of the college assessment plan o Participate in inter-professional collaboration as relevant o Complete program grant applications to support the program as applicable o Assist in the recruitment of students to the program o Communicate with prospective PM DNP students o Make recommendations to the graduate school on decisions regarding admission to the program o Serve as academic advisor and develop plans of study for students in the program o Guide and monitor program progression of PM DNP students o Work on collaboration with clinical placement team to secure clinical practicum sites for PM DNP students o Assist with recruitment mentoring and evaluations for faculty teaching in the PM DNP program o Provide guidance to course faculty to resolve student issues - (Essential)
- 10% - Service to the University College and/or Department Specific duties will be coordinated with the department chair. - (Essential)

Minimum Requirements
- Doctoral degree in nursing
- 4 years of Nursing experience
- Unencumbered nursing license in ND or ability to obtain licensure in ND
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
