The Sales Supervisor will provide administrative and membership sales support to the Membership Team and General Manager. The position assists in recruiting and training the department staff team and models excellence in sales and service techniques through direct delivery and the coaching and development of staff and volunteers.
In this role you will:
- Coordinate and lead the Membership Sales & New Member Onboarding programs through tours membership registration program promotion and build relationships with new members.
- Provide direct delivery at the Membership Sales desk model excellence in sales and service by utilizing EYE Role Model and Coach Techniques.
- Make decisions and solve escalated member concerns in regards to member behavior and financial transactions.
- Manage the Membership Assistance Program and perform subsidy interviews.
- Assist with staff recruitment supervision and develop effective staff and volunteer teams within the department.
- Provide ongoing coaching and performance management of the Membership Sales staff and volunteer team.
- Coordinate and perform employee related administrative responsibilities including staff scheduling payroll and attendance reports.
- Develop and maintain departmental budgets through sound financial management practices.
- Assume centre financial banking responsibilities including cash-outs deposits cash reports petty cash control float tracking financial monitoring and reporting responsibilities.
- Manage centre-wide general administration processes including accident/incident reports distribution of courier/mail administrative and sales inventory etc.
- Be responsible for the centres IT assets including photocopiers fax machines data printers and the phone system.
- Support full-time staff team in center-wide initiatives and events.
- Assume weekly Acting Service Leader responsibilities/shifts.
- Perform other duties as assigned
You bring:
- Degree or Diploma in Business Office Administration Marketing or related area or equivalent experience
- Certified with a minimum of 2 years experience in sales and customer service
- Experience in a supervisory role is an asset
- Previous YMCA experience is an asset
- Proficient in Word Excel PowerPoint ActiveNet and other automated systems
- Certification in current CPR and First Aid is an asset
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to establish rapport through excellent communication with members staff and volunteers
- Excellent written communication skills
- Flexibility regarding assigned working hours including days evenings and weekends
- Excellent understanding of diversity inclusion and equity including the ability to identify and address barriers work effectively with diverse stakeholders and integrate equity into program design

- Focus on the health safety and wellbeing of all children youth and vulnerable people in YMCA programs including understanding legal and moral obligations related to reporting suspected child abuse to Child Protection Services
