General objective:

The Project Accountant is responsible for managing end-to-end project accounting and billing activities to ensure accurate cost allocation timely invoicing proper revenue recognition and effective accounts receivable follow-up. The role supports project teams by maintaining financial integrity across labor non-labor equipment and reimbursable costs ensuring compliance with client requirements internal controls and corporate reporting standards while facilitating cash flow and month-end close activities.

Main responsibilities:

  • Draft project invoices and obtain required approvals from Project Managers in accordance with contractual and internal controls

  • Perform weekly posting of usage logs for company owned equipment Asset Operating Hours (AOH) parts and lease costs; allocate costs and generate associated revenue.

    Manage and maintain Non Labor Resources (NLR) in Oracle to ensure accurate cost allocation and billing.

  • Generate and release labor costs in the Field Time System (FTS) based on client Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) and activity codes on a daily and weekly basis; reconcile FTS labor to Oracle balance costs and release invoices.

  • Generate reimbursable expense invoices in Oracle for equipment usage AOH work orders and other billable costs based on approved cost reports.

  • Greate and maintain craft labor rate schedules and Non Labor Resource bill rates including third party markups in Oracle to support accurate billing and revenue recognition.

  • Set up project tasks and maintain transaction controls and billability rules in Oracle to ensure compliance with contractual terms.

  • Submit invoices to clients through multiple client portals and via email ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

  • Follow up with clients on outstanding Accounts Receivable balances and support cash application activities including payment allocation and reconciliation.

  • Perform revenue recognition activities and review revenue exception reports to ensure all billable transactions have correctly generated revenue.

  • Prepare and upload month end project accounting journals in Oracle as requested by project teams.

  • Review exception reports provide commentary for month end corporate reporting and support ad hoc finance requests as required.
