Under direct supervision of a licensed medical professional the Exercise Physiologist prepares patientsJob Description
Essential Functions
Interacts with co-workers visitors and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
Develop exercise programs to improve participant strength flexibility endurance or circulatory functioning in accordance with exercise science
standards regulatory requirements and credentialing requirements.
Lead established exercise/rehab maintenance groups.
Prescribe individualized exercise programs specifying equipment such as treadmill exercise bicycle ergometers or perceptual goggles.
Interpret exercise program participant data to evaluate progress or identify needed program changes. Analyze quantitative data to determine effectiveness of treatments or therapies.
Prepares the treatment area equipment and supplies relating to patient treatment for all division services to expedite the delivery of patient care. This includes calibrating and maintaining exercise or testing equipment and demonstrating correct use of exercise equipment or performance of
exercise routine.
Communicates impressions and objective information in a clear and timely manner to pertinent stakeholders to ensure efficient coordination and optimal outcomes information.
Participates in the departments performance improvement program.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science or Exercise Physiology required.
AND
Experience:
0-2 years of clinical practice 1 year preferred
Experience with Cardiac Rehab and EKG interpretation is preferred
Minimum Certifications Registration or License Requirements:
CPR certification required. ACLS if working in Cardiac Rehab.
