Job Summary

Country Club of Colorado is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Tennis Professional to oversee our tennis program. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional skills in teaching coaching and organizing tennis activities for members of all ages and skill levels. This position offers the opportunity to lead and grow a thriving tennis community within our prestigious club.

General Purpose:
Provide lessons for resort and outside guests facilitate resort and outside group events and establish junior and local programming. The Head Tennis Professional will train and hire a teaching professional staff that will operate under Cliff Drysdale Tennis customer service standards.

Essential Duties:
  • Supervises all tennis play and proper charging of fees and rental of equipment.
  • Initiates directs and promotes tennis clinics special events and programs in an effort to attract and maintain members tennis interests.
  • Provides beginning through advanced instruction (private and group) for all levels of players.
  • Implements and develops lesson programs for adults and juniors.
  • Enforces all club rules and regulations governing the use of the club/facility its equipment and other property.
  • Properly represents the club in state or national events as time will permit.
  • Works cooperatively with other departments to develop combined programs for the membership.
  • Ensures proper inspection of the courts/facilities on a daily basis prior to the start of play and ascertain that all necessary maintenance has been performed and the courts are in a safe working order. Reports any maintenance problems to the department manager or Maintenance Manager.
  • Monitors court usage including special events clinics and lessons.
  • Responsible for interviewing hiring training planning assigning and directing work evaluating performance rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Manages department members that may include but is not limited to: Tennis Instructors Tennis Merchandise Clerks
  • Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs.
  • Monitors business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower productivity costs and other expenses.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Teach lessons to Junior and Adult program.
  • Coordinate with the various tennis associations to secure business during off peak times.
Education/Experience:
  • Associates degree (AA); and four-six years related experience as a head tennis professional/instruction; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequently stands walks uses hands; talks and hears reaches with hands and arms climbs balances; stoops kneels crouches or crawls.
  • Occasionally sits.
  • Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
  • Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses:
  • CPR First Aid Certification Teaching Certification (Tennis).
  • Member of Professional Tennis Association.
Job Knowledge Skill and Ability Preferences:
  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
  • Possess U.S.T.A. rating of 5.0 or better.
