A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PROGRAM COORDINATOR
As a Program Coordinator with our nonprofit you play an integral role in ensuring the program runs smoothly. This program is transitioning to a 12 hour Residential Apartment Program providing supports for adult men and women. This position currently provides services for 6 individuals with room to grow. The individuals in this program love to engage in various activities and be part of their community such as going to concerts river trips and participating in Special Olympics. The ideal candidate for this position is fun outgoing and motivated to work and continually improve the quality of life of people in services.
Without you our clients wouldnt receive the top-quality care they need and our staff wouldnt get the training to help them perform at their best. Most of your day is spent working hands-on with our clients to ensure that their physical and financial well-being is being taken care of. You also hold staff meetings and make sure that you are available when your team needs help or has questions that relate to the operations of the program. Your willingness to be flexible and remain on call is why you are an effective leader and it brings you great satisfaction knowing you serve in such an important role with our nonprofit!
The Program Coordinator oversees all aspects of the program for people with disabilities. The program coordinator will play an integral part working with individuals in the program with varying levels of personal hygiene care needs behavioral needs medical needs communication safety recreation and leisure and various other tasks to help the individuals to learn independence in their lives. The Coordinator will oversee plan and execute specific activities in these areas.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM COORDINATOR
- 1 years of experience working with individuals with Developmental/intellectual disabilities
- 1 years of supervisory experience which includes interviewing and hiring staff as well as conducting performance evaluations training staff and scheduling
- Ability to produce and review typed business letters reports and accurate numerical records
- Personal reliable transportation and willing to transport individuals in personal vehicle.
- Valid drivers license a clean driving record and proof of insurance
- Proficient with computer
- Leadership skills

WORK SCHEDULE
The typical schedule for this position is Monday 10am-5pm Tuesday and Wednesday 10am-6pm Thursday 9am-5pm Friday 8am-5pm There is some flexibility with the typical schedule that can be discussed.
In addition flexibility is needed depending on the needs of the individuals and program such as staff coverage emergencies and community engagement and may include day swing overnight and weekend hours. The program coordinator also helps with various agency events.
