The Faculty of Social Sciences is looking for Assistant Lecturer/Lecturer to join the Experiential Learning team. The appointee will play a key role in designing and delivering innovative engaging and high-impact experiential learning opportunities for undergraduate students with a particular focus on Psychology.
Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will primarily manage credit-bearing internships under the Social Innovation and Global Citizenship Programme and will:
- Promote coordinate and supervise psychology-related internships for undergraduate students
- Develop maintain and strengthen partnerships with external organisations to secure quality placement opportunities
- Deliver career development training and support to equip students with essential professional skills and workplace readiness
- Contribute to curriculum planning development and teaching related to experiential learning and internship preparation/assessment
- Provide ongoing student guidance monitor learning progress and conduct placement visits/liaison
- Support programme administration and reporting in relation to internship operations and student outcomes
Requirements
- A recognised Masters degree or above in Psychology or related disciplines within the Social Sciences
- A minimum of three years post-qualification work experience preferably with a background of teaching at tertiary institutions and/or psychology-related professional practice
- Prior experience supporting student career readiness and/or promoting mental health and well-being through training and programming is an advantage
- Strong organisational and administrative capabilities with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
- A proactive innovative and solutions-oriented mindset
- Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua)
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for two years to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary for Assistant Lecturer and 15% of basic salary for Lecturer. Other benefits include annual leave and professional leave medical benefits and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
