Most importantly youre eager to grow open to feedback and excited to keep the roleThe Assistant Teacher is responsible for providing care for children in the classroom while maintaining a safe nurturing and clean play environment. Assist in planning and implementing activities and communicating with families about their childs day. This role serves as a support to the Lead in creating and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum. Lead lesson planning and activities in the Lead Teachers absence. Maintain a safe engaging and organized classroom environment. Follow Vermont State Licensing Regulations and renewal requirements. Ensure proper identification of individuals picking up children. Communicate effectively with families and co-workers. Update parent boards monthly and assist with child assessments. Represent the program positively and maintain appropriate teacher/child required training maintain CPR/First Aid certification and uphold professional requirementsStrong understanding of child development including varying abilities. Meets VT Early Childhood Career Ladder Level III or equivalent education/experience. Physically able to move freely including floor activities. Communicates professionally and maintains a safe engaging learning environment. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.A current valid drivers license is required for operating company vehicles and transporting goods equipment personnel or students as part of job must successfully pass a comprehensive background check to ensure the safety and well-being of students and compliance with school and daycare to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
