Heywood Healthcare is seeking a skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our Emergency Medicine team at Heywood Hospital in Gardner MA and Athol Hospital in Athol MA. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality emergency care in a collaborative community-based setting within a respected independent healthcare system serving North Central Massachusetts.

Ideal for providers who value meaningful patient relationships and broad-scope practice
APPs practice collaboratively across the system with physician oversight and strong nursing support allowing providers to practice at the top of their license.
Practice in a busy community emergency department
Physician-led team-based model with experienced Emergency Medicine physicians and APPs
Opportunity to practice at the top of license
Supportive leadership focused on quality safety and provider well-being
Full-time schedule: 11 twelve-hour shifts per month
Evaluate diagnose and manage patients presenting with a broad range of emergency conditions
Perform procedures consistent with training and scope of practice
Collaborate with Emergency Medicine physicians nursing staff and consultants
Document care in the electronic medical record and adhere to quality and safety standards
Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Minimum of 1 year of experience in one or more of the following:
Emergency Department practice as an APP
Urgent Care practice as an APP
Prior clinical experience as a Paramedic
Eligible for Massachusetts licensure
BLS and ACLS required (PALS preferred or willingness to obtain)
Strong clinical judgment teamwork and communication skills
