DescriptionDowner is delivering a significant design and build project in Wellington supporting essential community services through modern thermal processing technology. The project involves assembling and installing modular mechanical equipment on site and working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
As the Mechanical Project Engineer you will report to the Project Manager and play a key role in delivering mechanical installation pipework and steelwork activities. You will work on site full time and collaborate with mechanical fitters subcontractors and our design team to ensure safe and accurate installation.

What youll do
Plan and coordinate the installation and assembly of modular mechanical equipment
Interpret drawings manuals and specifications for mechanical works
Manage pipework steelwork flanges mechanical fitup and hydro testing
Prepare and maintain ITPs and quality documentation
Work with the design team to resolve site queries and confirm installation requirements

Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience in mechanical installation on industrial or utilities projects
Ability to read and work from drawings specifications and equipment manuals
Experience with pipework flanges steel structures and mechanical testing
Confidence preparing ITPs quality records and supporting commissioning activities
Strong communication and coordination skills
