Harborview Medical Centers Rehabilitation Therapies and Clinics has an outstanding opportunity for an Occupational Therapist 2 for our Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Program.
WORK SCHEDULE
Part-Time / 36 hours per week
Rotating/Variable Shifts
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
In this outpatient program the therapists have expertise in serving patients with traumatic brain injury stroke and spinal cord injury. The focus is on comprehensive care of the patient with multiple disciplines involved in maximizing recovery and health
This position will assess plan administer evaluate and provide safe occupational therapy including progression of treatment goals and patient and family education
The OT 2 will assess and treat a patient caseload ranging from routine to complex patient problems and situations and utilize training in the evaluation and treatment process
Implement treatment programs which include addressing sensorimotor deficits daily living skills cognition and therapeutic adaptations. This may include use of therapeutic exercise physical agents manual therapy and splinting.
The department is team oriented and a dynamic workgroup willing to help each other that values team communication and motivation to reach to a higher level of care for patients. This position works closely with physicians nurses and other disciplines who value Occupational Therapy skills and their contributions to the team.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate working knowledge of the disease process precautions typical medical treatment and diagnostic procedures functional abilities complications and implications of long term deficits related to primary diagnoses treated in service area.
Follow protocols standards and guidelines of care relating to specific diagnosis on assigned service.
Plan treatment programs with the patient and treatment team.
Document intervention and strategies for treatment in required organizational systems. Documentation is to include assessment measurable criteria goals method of treatment home programs and adapting plan according to patients response to intervention.
Participate in team rounds and other educational information to patient and support systems prior to termination of therapy intervention.
Provide home programs and other educational information to patient and support systems prior to termination of therapy intervention.
Knowledge of other treatment team members roles with intervention and effective methods to collaborate in patients treatment.
Articulate and integrate safety policies and procedures into daily practice.
Provide recommendations and justification for equipment needs of patients.
Demonstrate advanced skill in SCI care.
Fabrication of basic splints
Experience in management of upper extremity prosthetics
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program and successful completion of American Occupational Therapy certification examination. Current Washington State license to practice as an Occupational Therapist or a valid probational certificate issued by the State of Washington to practice occupational therapy.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as a license/certification/registration.
