KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Community Services Department is currently looking for summer students to work as full-time casual employees in our Facilities Division as Outdoor Facilities (Parks) Labourers this summer. Applicants must enjoy working outside and must be available for a variety of working hours. Duties include: lawn care gardening garbage pick-up public washroom monitoring painting minor repairs and other general labour duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates must:
- be able to provide proof of current acceptance or enrolment in full-time post-secondary studies prior to an offer of employment;
- have a valid class 5 drivers license (a copy will be required prior to an offer of employment);
- have valid current certification in Intermediate First Aid and CPR;
- WHMIS training; and
- provide a satisfactory criminal records check (if 18 or older) prior to any offer of employment. Candidates are encouraged to obtain this as soon as possible.
Experience with the following will be considered an asset:
- gardening or horticultural experience;
- small tool knowledge and experience using small power tools;
- towing trailers; and
- operating lawn mowers.

HOURS OF WORK AND RATE OF PAY:
Rate of pay: $28.27 per hour plus 4% vacation pay.
Anticipated start date: May 4 2026
Duration of employment: Approximately 4 months
Schedule: 40 hours per week 8 hours per day 5 days a week. Shifts can start as early as 5AM and shifts may be on the weekend.
